Established in 1935 by miners from Easfield and Harthill, our community orchestra thrives with a diverse repertoire, blending classical pieces, overtures, and contemporary chart music. We actively engage in local events like the Biggar Little Festival and perform in venues such as nursing homes and churches to enrich our community. Under the leadership of conductor Bryan Allan since May 2017, we remain self-funded through member contributions and local support. Remarkably, our practice hall, Benhar Hall, pays homage to our origins, thanks to community fundraising efforts and grants from various organisations. Join us in celebrating music together!
